By a gracious choice,
‘un choix gratuit’,
a gratuitous choice :
undeserved, unexpected,
even unwanted…
Until the “Yes” was
snatched from me in
a moment of unknowing,
Gratuitous choice.
Then peace….
“As a child has rest in
its Mother’s arms,
even so my soul”.
And so through all the years
of darkness and of light,
of obstacles and escapes,
of turnings and returnings,
of yearning and of learning.
Learning to know and love the Lord,
from Him and through Him
to know and love His Mother,
and with the help of both
to know and love all those they love.
Learning through my sisters and brothers
in so many different ways,
the meaning of Marist,
the meaning of mercy,
the meaning of Mary.
